South Coast Tree Lopping operates this website as a referral service. We direct enquiries to independent third-party tree contractors working in the Illawarra region. We do not directly provide tree removal, pruning, stump grinding, storm response or land clearing services.
Any work you arrange is performed under an agreement between you and the contractor. We are not a party to that agreement.
We do not verify contractors
We do not inspect or verify the licensing, certification, competence, qualifications or insurance of the contractors we refer enquiries to. We expect contractors to represent their credentials accurately, but we do not independently confirm them.
Before any work starts you should request from the contractor, and verify directly with the issuing body where possible:
- Evidence of current public liability insurance, and workers compensation cover if they employ staff.
- Relevant arboricultural qualifications for the work being carried out.
- Any licence or accreditation required for the specific task, particularly for work near electrical infrastructure.
Tree work is high-risk work. Taking five minutes to check these documents is the single most useful thing you can do before a crew starts.
Disputes between you and a contractor
We are not involved in disputes or disagreements between contractors and customers, including disputes about workmanship, damage, scope, delay or payment. Those matters should be resolved directly between the parties, with independent advice where needed. Where a dispute cannot be resolved, NSW Fair Trading is the usual avenue for consumers.
We are not responsible for damage, loss or disagreement arising from the use of this website to connect contractors with customers.
Accuracy of the information on this site
The content here is general information, not professional advice. We take reasonable care to keep it accurate and current, but we do not warrant that it is complete, correct or up to date, and errors and omissions are possible.
This applies particularly to statements about council requirements.
